Betty lives on 107 acres in Northeast Ohio, raising beef cattle with her husband,
Stanley, of fifty-five years. Betty is the retired Bethlehem Township Fiscal
Officer and has worked twenty years in the local village quilt shop. Her genealogy
research activities began in the 1960's while raising her son and two daughters.
Betty's personal records include volumes of records on her father, Rev. Dewey A.
Ewing, her mother's family and her husband's parents. Betty put her detail skills
to work when she was appointed
the
Association's
Archivist. She began this work by
organizing and cataloguing the records of Ellsworth Ewing, Margaret Fife and Myrtle
Roe. These records were then placed in the Cecil County Historical Society where
they remain today, updated by Betty as new information is submitted. Betty has
been a member of
the
Ewing Family Association
since 1988 and has attended all but the first
gathering in Vincennes and the Nashville gathering.

Karen Avery began genealogical research in 1995. Her Mother's Ewing family
ancestry has eluded numerous researchers for over sixty years. Recently
some ancestors have been found who were residing in Connecticut as early
as the 1730s. Sisters Beth Ewing Toscos and Jane Ewing Weippert are first
cousins of Karen. Beth and Jane's Father is participant RC in the Ewing
Surname Y-DNA Project.
Karen's Ewing database continues to grow and now totals over 9,500 Ewing-born
individuals. Karen is always happy to search her database and help others
in their search for ancestors.

Jill Ewing Spitler joined the Ewing Family Association in 1998 when Rev. Ellsworth
S. Ewing and wife Dorothy visited and stayed with her and her brother Joe
in Loudonville, Ohio. Ellsworth had written Joe a couple times thinking we
might be related, because Ellsworth's family came from Hayesville, just a
few miles down the road in Ashland County, Ohio. Jill has been a Board
Member since the Board was first formed in San Antonio, Texas. She has also
been Chair of the Board, Chair of the Lancaster, Ohio, Gathering,
instrumental in starting the Research Room as a get-acquainted and

John Ewin is a third great-grandson of James Ewin Sr. born in Drumcliff, County
